Who are the Hub Leads, and what do they do?…

Hub Leads are dedicated individuals responsible for managing the Local History Hub. There are two types of Hub Leads:

Schools Hub Lead – Focuses on engaging schools, developing resources, and embedding local history in the curriculum. To find out more click here.

Community Hub Lead – Works with historical sites, local organizations, and the wider community to encourage participation in heritage-related activities. To find out more click here.

How are Hub Leads selected?…

Local Authorities identify and appoint Hub Leads based on their passion for local history, leadership skills, and ability to engage schools and communities. The ideal candidates should have experience in education, heritage, or community engagement.

What support is provided to Hub Leads?…

Hub Leads receive guidance, training, and access to online resources from the Local History Hub team. They also have the flexibility to shape their hubs based on their community’s needs.

What events and activities will the Local History Hub organise?…

Yes, absolutely! Schools that are not maintained by a Local Authority are encouraged to join and participate.
